Group Therapy #3 September 11, 2025
Here’s a chance to be better at public speaking and media interviews.
And it’s free so spread the word.
Group Therapy is for public speakers and media spokespeople and gives them a chance to ask their burning questions, rehearse and receive valuable feedback.
It’s lead by “group therapist” Brett de Hoedt who is a media trainer and presentation coach. He’s an emcee, speaker and former journalist who has trained 1000+ people to be better communicators. He knows his onions.
The 45-minute Zoom sessions typically concentrate on one aspect of presentation or media interviews but are largely devoted to participants trialling new techniques and raising their concerns.
Brett uses the term “group therapy” because this is a loosely formatted session in which a small group of people drive the agenda and offer each other feedback. Brett leads the session but it is not a class or training session per se.
Group Therapy is utterly free with no upsells, endless self-promotion, merchandise sales et al.
Zero bollocks - just a fun, supportive 45-minute session.
And yep. It’s free. And to our knowledge, unique.
Group Therapy happens at 10.30am (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart time) on the first Thursday of the month. (Except for September which will be Thursday, September 11.)
Rules of engagement:
Show up and join in. Take to the ‘stage’, offer feedback or both.
Meanwhile - spread the word via your social media and networks - the more the merrier.
If you don’t have any specific material to prepare for you can always set yourself the challenge of grappling with an unfamiliar issue and presenting it. Two suggestions:
How do tariffs work?
What’s a meme coin?
